Welcome to my Website and thank you for visiting Counselling in Stroud.
My name is Robyn Morris and I am a Counsellor and longer term Psychotherapist based in the Slad Valley, between Uplands and the village of Slad. Map
I practice from a dedicated therapy room within my home, it is a safe, warm and confidential space where we can explore and talk about what is disturbing you. There is plenty of parking and it is a short walk into the town centre where there are links to rail and bus routes.
I work using an Integrative model which means I integrate a number of approaches. I work from a Person Centred core and include Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis, Systemic and Relational Models. I am fully qualified, insured and a regulated member of the BACP.
My experience is with Individuals, Couples, Internet and Telephone Counselling. I’ve worked with Trauma and Abuse and have an interest in Trauma recovery and Post Traumatic Growth – my Continuous Professional Development (CPD) tends to focus around Trauma and it’s recovery.
My experience with EAP work has been solution-focused, short-term counselling work (6-8 weeks) and combines Solution Focussed Therapy techniques as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy tools (CBT), this is especially helpful with General Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, Stress management, and when confusing feelings are both disturbing and disruptive to daily living.
I have worked for Relate in an employed capacity as a Couples Therapist and as an Associate, I am a fully qualified and accredited Relate Trained Couples Therapist. I work with all couples, and have experience working with same sex and sexual diversity in the couples therapy.
Currently I am completing an MA in Advanced Clinical Practice in Psychotherapy and Counselling with the Minster Centre in London.
Counselling in Stroud is about facilitating change and growth with you, it is about the awakening of self and a move to fulfilment and purpose that I believe we all have a deep yearning for.
