Individual Therapy takes place weekly, on a regular day and time that we agree on mutually.
People come for Individual Therapy for many varied reason; Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Post Natal Depression (PND), loss or bereavement, Trauma, Post Traumatic Stress, the breakdown of a relationship, parenting challenges, or, work-related stress. There are many reasons for seeking counselling.
Longer term Psychotherapy is much more about self awareness, becoming aware of our own triggers, our own process, learning about self and in that process becoming autonomous and having what we call ‘agency’. Carl Rogers called this process ‘Actualising’ and that is a great way to sum it up; it’s about self-awareness and the unravelling of layers in that process.
Some people start the Therapeutic process hoping for some help and support with managing Anxious feelings but end up going much deeper and continuing on with their journey inward. No two people are the same and each person’s journey toward emotional and mental wellness is unique.
